October 2020 Regular Board Meeting Minutes

October 19, 2020

 Regular board meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Robert Clarke.

 Roll call taken and all board members were in attendance except Sandi Fish. Nathan Wickard joined the meeting via telephone. (Robert Clarke, Stacie Clark, Erin Cole, Amy Hinkley, Matt Richards)

 Also present: Superintendent, Deanna Edens

 Motion to approve minutes was made by Amy Hinkley and supported by Stacie Clark at 7:01 p.m. All board members participating in the meeting were in agreeance (Robert Clarke, Stacie Clark, Erin Cole, Amy Hinkley, Matt Richards, Nathan Wickard).

 Visitors (Public Comment) – None

 A motion was made at 7:01 p.m. by Amy Hinkley for the acceptance of the bills, motion was supported by Stacie Clark. All board members participating in the meeting were in agreeance (Robert Clarke, Stacie Clark, Erin Cole, Amy Hinkley, Matt Richards, Nathan Wickard).

 Reconfirmation of Extended COVID-19 Learning Plan –

Superintendent, Deanna Edens informed the board that no changes were made to the current learning plan that is in place. A motion was made at 7:12 p.m. by Robert Clarke to approve the COVID-19 Learning Plan as presented. Motion was supported by Stacie Clark.  All board members participating in the meeting were in agreeance (Robert Clarke, Stacie Clark, Erin Cole, Amy Hinkley, Matt Richards, Nathan Wickard).

 Superintendent, Deanna Edens informed the board that she was contacted by the health department October 19, 2020 in regards to a positive COVID-19 case of a student from the opposing team that played during the Jr. High football game on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. Therefore, the students on the Middle School football team should be self-quarantined until October 29, 2020.

 Stacie Clark suggested that the generous donation of $10,000 that was made to the district be used for remote entrance at the student parking lot entrance, more lighting be added to that entrance, and repair the floor there as well. Discussion took place in regards to the suggestion and Robert Clarke asked that Ms. Edens pursue getting a bid on the project suggested and that she also reach out to staff for suggestions or ideas along with asking the community.

 Stacie Clark updated the board on the first meeting of an Improvement Committee that met Monday, October 12, 2020 and many positive ideas and suggestions came from that meeting. A new date and time for a future meeting is in the works.

Visitors (Public Comment) – 4 community members were present that addressed the board.

 A motion was made at 7:44 p.m. by Amy Hinkley to adjourn the meeting, motion supported by Stacie Clark. All board members participating in the meeting were in agreeance (Robert Clarke, Stacie Clark, Erin Cole, Amy Hinkley, Matt Richards, Nathan Wickard).
