At Pittsford Area Schools, we feel that interscholastic athletics is a very important part of our educational program. Many benefits and life-long values may be gained from participation in a sound athletic program. This participation is a privilege granted to the young men and women of our school district. Every athlete, through their public participation, is an ambassador of our school and community. The athlete's conduct reflects directly upon their parents, their school, and their community. As an example of the way we run our athletic programs, read a comment we recently received:
Comment received by our AD from another team's coach: "I just wanted to let you know how impressed I was with your ENTIRE Girls Basketball Program and Student Body at Saturday's game. I have been in Education and have coached for over 30 years and yet I found myself enjoying your student section and their support for your girls throughout the game. Though it was a tough loss, your girls team and fans kept it classy. It sure looks like your school community is "doing it right. Job well done!!"
We couldn't have said it better!
Included among the lessons to be learned from the athletic competition are:
Lifelong friendships, experiencing and learning teamwork, development of sportsmanship as participant and spectator, goal setting, and competing with others as well as ones self. The long-term objective of the athletics program at Pittsford is to help students build character, hone leadership skills, encourage fair play and form a positive self-image. The emphasis is on producing young people who seek a healthy, active lifestyle and strive for excellence.
Pittsford Area Schools offers MS/HS students interscholastic competition in the following Sports:
Fall: Cross-Country, Football, Volleyball
Winter: Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Boys Bowling, and Girls Bowling
Spring: Baseball, Softball, Girls Track, Boys Track
Every student must have a signed student handbook and a current physical examination on file before they can try out and/or participate in any sport. A physical examination is valid for the next school year if a physician signs it on or after April 15th of the current school year. This policy is an MHSAA rule and will not be waived.

We are bursting with PRIDE for our Ladycats 2015 basketball team. This record-breaking season has been a ride we will never forget! 2015 STATE RUNNERS-UP!!!
Special thanks to the outpouring of love from area businesses, schools, and community members and a HUGE thanks to Sir James Outerwear for "Turning the Breslin Blue"!
