*Big Buck Contest*
I know many students pleaded with me to cancel school tomorrow for opening day (see picture). Although, I couldn't cancel school I am going to host a big buck contest for students in grades 9-12 and 6-8. The winning student in each level will receive a prize from me and the overall biggest buck taken by a student will receive a trophy! The contest will run for the length of the regular firearm season Nov. 15-30. Make sure to email me a picture or show me a picture when you get to school. I want to wish all of the hunters the best of luck tomorrow. Stay safe and enjoy the time in the woods and the time with family and friends!

Congratulations to the girls cross country team on their 2nd place finish at the MHSAA Regionals at Ella Sharp Park this afternoon. Brooke Smith was Regional champion as she placed 1st with a time of 19:37. Riley McCumber finished 4th and Lillian Jagielski finished 12th to earn all-region honors. The girls team qualified for the MHSAA State Championship next Saturday at Michigan International Speedway. Great job girls!

The SCAA Cross Country Championship took place this morning in Colon. Brooke Smith was league champion, followed by Ava Mallar (4th), Riley McCumber (5th) and Lilly Jagielski (12th). The girls team finished in 2nd place in the SCAA. Great job Ladycats!
Tonight's Volleyball game against the Rangers of Reading will start at 6pm due to a busing issue on Reading's end. Thanks for your Patience.

The Pittsford Area Schools laundry soap fundraiser ends on Friday, September 29th. Grades K-5 please return your orders and money to your teacher. Grades 9-12 can turn their orders in to their class advisor. Don’t miss out on the savings!!

We had a student leave the campus without permission today. We had to notify the police and put the school in a lockdown temporarily. The situation is resolved and everyone is safe. Congratulations to the Ladycat cross country team for their 2nd place finish at the Fayette Invitational today. Three girls finished in the top 10. Brooke Smith finished 4th, Riley McCumber finished 7th and Ava Mallar finished 10th. Lillian Jagielski also medaled by placing 20th. Riley McCumber broke her personal best time by 27 seconds. Great race kiddo!

Just a reminder that tonight's Junior high Volleyball game will be a 3 games with the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade all playing separate games starting at 5:30.
The Junior High Football game in Tekonsha will start shortly after 5pm due to a busing issue.

Elementary students and staff at Pittsford Area Schools recite the Pledge of Allegiance every morning after breakfast in the cafeteria. Our Middle School and High School students recite the Pledge of Allegiance every afternoon during student announcements.

As many of you know there is a heat advisory in effect for tomorrow beginning at 11 a.m. The forecast is predicting the heat index to reach 105. With that being said, Pittsford Area Schools will have a half day tomorrow, August 24th. We will dismiss students at 11:10 a.m.
HACC students will still attend the career center tomorrow morning. Their bus will leave at 7:45 and return prior to dismissal.

Reminder that Junior High football practice for any 6th, 7th, & 8th grade boy that is interested starts Wednesday August 23rd after school and will run until approximately 5 pm. Reminder: students must have a new health physical on file in order to participate.
